Equipment and Technology Used

Insight Subluxation Station

Insight

Insight Subluxation Station - This state of the art equipment is utilized as a screening and diagnostic tool in many chiropractor’s offices and Chiropractic colleges to detect neurological deficits, musculoskeletal deficiencies, impaired function of vertebral joints and vertebral subluxations. The Insight subluxation station has many functions which include: Surface EMG, Dynamic EMG, Thermal Scan, Inclinometer, Pulse wave profiler, and Algometer.

The surface EMG is able to detect neuro-musculoskeletal imbalances which demonstrate abnormal electrical activity with nerve and muscle function. Basically, it tells us if the muscles are receiving too much or too little nerve energy. These scans are very helpful in identifying subluxations and impairments related to the neuro-musculoskeletal system (nerve and muscle system). Usually, a printout is given to you during your office visit with an explanation from the doctor as well as an easy-to-read detailed report. This test is a great way for patients to clearly see during their initial visit the physiological effects of nerve and muscle dysfunction and how it affects the body. This test is repeated periodically throughout the treatment plan during re-examinations in order to monitor the patient’s progress.

The inclinometer is excellent at demonstrating the range of motion of the vertebral column (neck, mid-back, and low-back).  Another important Insight™ feature is the Insight™ software gives you both the AMA norms for impairment rating, and published norms adjusted to age and gender to assist in clinical decision making. This test is usually repeated periodically throughout the treatment plan in order to monitor the patient’s progress with their joint function and range of motion. Moreover, it clearly documents their condition and status.

Sims Chiropractic Center routinely uses the surface EMG in addition to the chiropractic examination and X-rays in order to completely evaluate patients. We also use this technology as a screening tool at community events, health fairs, and health screenings in order to quickly assess the neurological function of attendees.

We welcome opportunities to educate the public on Chiropractic and are able to provide valuable spinal health information with the use of the Insight Subluxation Station. Call our office today to schedule your free Screening!

Triton Spinal Decompression Table

Triton

What is spinal decompression?

It is a non-surgical method of helping people with neck and back disorders which include disc- herniations, disc-bulges, and decreased range of motion.

What conditions can be helped with spinal decompression?

People who suffer from disc problems in the neck or back can benefit from a series of treatments with this equipment. In addition, many patients who suffer from numbness, tingling and burning discomfort in their arms and legs experience relief.  Other conditions include protruding discs, bulging discs, herniated discs, degenerative discs, prolapsed discs, radicular pain, compression fracture, discogenic pain, hypomobility, arthritis, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome, failed back surgery, and sciatica. Many patients who are considering surgery can benefit from this low-risk, non-surgical effective treatment modality.

How does the Triton Spinal Decompression table help people with severe neck and back pain?

The triton traction device helps by mechanically moving joints, causing the disc pressure to reduce. This alleviates pain by reducing disc and nerve pressure. In addition, it helps the joints move and stretches tissue. The Trition traction table is digital and times the amount of pressure as well as the time to facilitate consistent traction and speed the healing process. Treatment plans can range from 12-25 visits depending upon the condition.

Nutrition

Fruit Vegetables Healthy Plate

According to the American Chiropractic Association, there is no better way to rejuvenate your health than by eating more nutritiously. In fact, even a few simple changes in your diet and lifestyle can have a positive impact on your health-and can also prevent a variety of health problems in the future. Many doctors of chiropractic urge patients to stop smoking, eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and augment their balanced diet with appropriate nutritional supplements.  According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, dietary supplements are not substitutes for foods, nor can a person sustain good health by just taking vitamin and mineral supplements. When taken properly, however, supplements can play an important role in achieving maximum health. Don't "self-prescribe." Consult a health care practitioner, such as a doctor of chiropractic, to determine what supplements are best for you. If you have symptoms such as headaches, chronic fatigue, or cardiac problems, seek professional advice from a health care provider who specializes in nutrition.
